Frequently Asked Questions
Who Are we?
We are a multi-generational group of people from all walks of life. We have singles, students, marrieds, empty-nesters - everyone is welcome.
We gather to celebrate what Jesus has done for us. We do this in an informal and contemporary setting. There is a time of singing praise to God, times of prayer and reflection, and a talk from a Bible passage. Most weeks there is an opportunity to ask questions at the end of the talk. People generally stick around after we are done for good coffee and better conversation. Our gatherings usually last a little over an hour, but most people hang around to chat afterwards before sometimes heading out to one of the many cafe's and restaurants of Morningside.
What should I wear?
Trinity is a casual environment. Please wear what you are comfortable in, there is no dress code, this is Durban. Some people wear shorts and T-Shirts others wear jeans and shirts.
Should I bring anything?
Nothing is necessary. There are bibles provided for use. Some people like to bring their own Bible or use a Bible app on their phones.
Will I have to join in?
The simple answer is ‘no'. You are very welcome to sit and observe. But we hope that you will find our meetings engaging, thought-provoking and spiritually refreshing.
What kids activities are provided?
At Trinity we do not simply provide a babysitting service, we believe in actively teaching your children and supporting your leadership as parents. If you have a child between the ages of 8 weeks to the 5th grade, there are groups for them in the school building. You can rest assured they will be cared for by screened, interviewed, and trained volunteers who love Jesus and your children. For more information, feel free to reach out to Bev Richardson, our Kids Church Director.
Do I need to give money?
Definitely not! We don’t believe visitors should pay for church. The regular members are deeply grateful for what Jesus has done for them and are passionately committed to this church; therefore they give generously, sacrificially and joyfully. Read more on giving here.
How can I get connected?
If you're a first-time guest, we invite you to fill out the Connection Cards provided in the foyer. We want to thank you for coming, answer your questions, and help you to get involved in our church family when you’re ready to take that step. You can turn in your card at the coffee station, or give it to any volunteer in the foyer.
